Cultural Blind Date // VAR Cultural (Romania)
VAR Cultural (Romania)
By merging two distinct initiatives—Matched Society and RELATOPIA— this endeavor is a major cultural program carried out by the VAR Cultural Association during the 2024–2025 period. It investigates and interprets the evolution of romantic relationships in Romania over more than 150 years, using tools from sociology, anthropology, and psychology, as well as digital technologies and resources embedded in the artistic process. The project explores how social and technological changes – from newspaper personal ads to dating applications – have influenced private life and patterns of connection. The result is a performative-exhibition space conceived as a mirror of contemporary society, accessible to the general public through archives, interviews, installations, and multimedia works presented in an interactive format.
