Shakespeare Abides - Concert
WH: Sena / Márkos / Gryllus / G. Szabó (Hungary)
What are we to hear at this concert? Almost 450 year-old Shakespearean texts accompanied by audacious contemporary music from the WH band, a real super group, consisting of Sena, Albert Márkos, Samu Gryllusand G. Szabó, established in 2006. Other guests will also join in, in a common attempt to evoke the musical atmosphere of the taverns of the time, and possible future interpretations of Shakespeare.
To better recall the atmosphere of the era, young Eva Leonie Fegers, a German flutist living in Vienna, extraordinarily versatile in Renaissance and Baroque music, will also chip in. The concert features Bálint Bolcsó, a musician-composer with expertise in electronic music, who will present a vision for the future of music inspired by Shakespeare and what the world will look like in the following 400 years, if there will be one. And Attila Balázs, director of the Csiky Gergely Hungarian State Theater and the TESZT Festival in Timisoara will accompany him, reciting Shakespeare in Hungarian, in current and past translations.
