Songs of Wilhelm
Tolnai Ottó
The productions of Josef Nadj, the dancer-choreographer of Hungarian origin who lives in France, can be seen as having the common characteristics of play, dance and theatre. His choreographies are based on the performers’ personal sensibilities and are mostly labelled as inspired by Pina Bausch’ world, dance-theatre. In his creations music and visual arts are essential. There is always a central idea embodied on stage with the help of music, movement and visual effects. What preoccupies Nadj currently is well reflected in his most recent work, Songs of Wilhelm, based on the poems of Ottó Tolnai.
