The Return of Ulysses
based on the works of Homer, Márai Sándor and Claudio Monteverdi
Two lives, one abandoned and one never started, therefore life with no way out. During the 20-year wait, Ithaka found a “regime”, a life in which the one who has returned has no place of his own. During those 20 years, because of the impact of loss, several blows and women, a new personality emerged, not able to integrate in the life which continued without him. The moment Penelope and Telemachus have long waited for does not happen when Ulysses returns, but when he dies.
