The Csiky Gergely Hungarian State Theatre in Timisoara will organise the 14th edition of the Euroregional Theatre Festival TESZT during May 21st-28th. Indoor and outdoor performances from 15 countries will be presented at TESZT, which belongs to the Official Programme Timișoara – 2023 European Capital of Culture.
The 14th edition will be organized during May 21st-28th 2023 and belongs to the official Timisoara-European Capital Culture 2023 programme. We are looking mainly for flexible productions, with minimal technical requirements, adaptable for diverse indoor and outdoor spaces.
The 13th edition of the TESZT Festival, organised by the Csiky Gergely Hungarian State Theatre, has finished after eight intensive days of good quality theatre. 25 performances from 12 countries were presented in various venues inside the Cultural Palace and open-air spaces. the festival welcomed over 3000 spectators from Romania and abroad, professionals from the theatre world as well as ticket-buyers who crave theatre after the pandemic break.
A performance from Ukraine will be presented during TESZT: a unique theatrical and human solidarity event during the 13th edition of the festival organised by Csiky Gergely Hungarian State Theatre! The performance will be presented on May 28th by Youth Theatre„Virymo” from Dnipro, Ukraine. "Classmates”, directed by Volodymir Petrenko has a very young cast and talks about the destiny of schoolmates caught in the stormy historical changes of the XX century, the horrors of the war and the de-humanisation that follows. A literary masterpiece, acutely related to current events. The participation of Ukrainian artists in TESZT is supported by the Department of Social Services of Timisoara Municipality.
The Hungarian State Theater Csiky Gergely has started selling tickets for the thirteenth edition of TESZT - Euroregional Theater Festival, which will take place during the period May 22-29, 2022. The selection brings together 24 shows that reflect the paradigm shifts in the world and the transfiguration of personal perceptions about proximity and interiority, about social and personal space, following the COVID 19 pandemic in the last two years - and aims to give a boost to the spectator's reunion with artists, to restore the theatrical community.
