The gong of #TESZT15 has sounded, the festival has begun

Balázs Attila, director of the Hungarian State Theater "Csiky Gergely" from Timișoara, and Mayor Dominic Fritz, representative of Timișoara City Hall, the institution's financial backer, opened the doors of the 15th edition of the Euroregional Theatre Festival Timișoara-TESZT.

Balázs Attila especially welcomed those who feel that TESZT has become an integral part of their lives and who return year after year to become part of the festival family, but also welcomed those who were visiting the festival for the first time.  The Director of the Hungarian Theatre also expressed his hope that the energetically organised event, with 24 performances from 11 countries, will offer the audience a week full of remarkable theatrical experiences.

Mayor Dominic Fritz congratulated the festival on its choice of motto this year. He believes Another point of view is a good choice, because the locals form Timisoara can be characterised by an empathetic attitude, they like to look at the world from the point of view of others, of people who speak a different language, go to a different church, read a different book, sing a different song. The mayor believes that Timisoara has understood throughout its history that this ability is the basis for progress, for new ideas and innovations. He lamented that this attitude is not passed on through DNA, believing that it is up to cultural transmitters to shape the thinking of the new generation.

Together, the two representatives confidently hit the TESZT gong, kicking off a series of high-quality performances over eight days.
