The Eleventh TESZT for Theatre Lovers

The Euroregional Theatre Festival Timișoara – TESZT – will be organised by Csiky Gergely Hungarian State Theatre during May 20th-27th 2018 in the theatre’s halls and the performance hall of the Military Circle. This year’s selection presents conventional and alternative theatre formats, contemporary dance, performances based on video-mapping, a multimedia installation, aiming to capture current relevant tendencies on the European stages.

Even though TESZT’s primary objective is to function as a showcase for the best performances produced recently in the Euroregion DKMT, with special focus on Hungary and the former Yugoslav countries, TESZT 2018 continues the tradition and also invites performances and artists from Western Europe. We encourage dialogue, that is why we maintain the TESZT custom and every performance will be followed by a discussion with the artists so that the audience can ask questions and get acquainted with the process of creating a performance. The festival will also include a contemporary dance workshop coordinated by Toula Limnaios and the dancers from cie.toula limnaios, Berlin.

The novelty of this edition is the „Xtensions” section, which will be implemented together with our partners, the Association Timisoara European Capital of Culture 2021, presenting free-access performances, mostly in open-air spaces.

The detailed programme will be published soon, once the ticket sales begin. Here you can find the performances selected for the eleventh edition of TESZT.
